"*hello*
some people call me Paully...
some people call me Paul...
but you can call me whatever you want,
'long as you're callin' me, doll.
and thats all
wait! i've got one more thing to say!
come one, come all
to the fun and games of Paul
i know that i can fathom,
but i just can't understand,
if i was good at math i'd write a song about numbers
numbers
numbers
especially number 9
9
9
coincidence that 9 in german means no
no
i don't even need sunglasses to go"

*hello, we are coming to you LIVE from the room of Along Came Paully, where helicopter sound effects are being USED. what do you have to say, Along Came Paully?*
Well i could use a small vacation
the sunshine and those good vibrations
there is no other time but now
so turn off, tune in, lets drop out
the reds, the blues,
the purples, the greens,
have you gotten that far yet?
so much more that i have seen
the pyramids, the mountains
have you been there mentally?
have you heard yourself speak?
now i really think
that i could use a small vacation
the sunshine and those good vibrations
there is no other time but now
so turn off, tune in, lets drop out
have you grasped reality?
or do you realize its just a dream?
have you seen the things i've seen?
probably not cause you're not me
and that okay,
you're different.
celebrate existence
and i know we do not need reiteration, but...

Other Things

Careful when you blink
there could be nothing after that
you will regret it
every day we lose some stars
theres nothing wrong with that
they will turn into other things
...maybe something...better...yeah
you think you know so much?
well what will happen next?
ohhhh
you don't know, do you?
careful when you blink
there could be nothing after that
but we'll find other things...
yeah

We're all guilty of crawling through the apartment walls,
but the complex we were in is crumbling down into the creek about to fall.
Home within your house of cards, you do not play the fun and games
except you said that you'd play mine, i guess in which case thats okay.
Footprints filled with garlic, vampires will not go where we've been
tally marks taped on the wall where blessing keeps count of our sins.
I'm surprised i'm still allowed to come around and eat your food,
you are better friends than i deserve, and i should learn from you.
Blessing IS her name
she's the coolest guy
everyone else is lame
but Amber's alright

I helped you walk on a telephone wire
and i held your hand, but you kept going higher
when i tried to reach you, i tried not to let go
the rest is all a history that i'm sure that i'll never know
some play the game just to pick up the prize
you were waiting in line, a whole year passed you by
and you gave up your spot to the person behind you
you were not empty handed you had...made up your mind
and you said it yourself that everything changes
but you like to talk like you're the only one to claim it
well in my opinion, you'll always be the same
until you learn what love is, yeah that'll be the day. haha
sometimes i'd like to just to just crawl between the walls
and pretend like i never existed here at all
no one will call out for me, no one knows my name
this is not hide and seek, this is paul's fun and games
there is no conclusion, no, nothing's too broken
to keep moving on, or at least that's what i'm hoping
and this is to the poet with whom i used to share wings
who fell from the sky and then started walking

Aruba

|

the end is nearing, a train is coming,
that is not a metaphor, it is really coming,
and i'll be on it, you can bet your bottom dollar,
looking out the window, watching this city get smaller,
i'm sorry father, that i am your failure.
you've told me so many times, make sure i will remember.
i'll try to be gone before the winter
you said it again, it is september
you said i'll never prove you wrong, and maybe that is true, but
if i ever make it anywhere, i'll send you to Aruba.

Sometimes
i'd like to
crawl
between the walls
and
pretend
like i never
existed
here
at all
no one
will call out
poor me
no one knows
my name
this
is
not
hide
and
seek
this
is
paul's
fun
and
games

particles invade
the story folds in
you're looking concave
at a fraction of it
the concept is vague
i'm walking the cow
now its too late
thought you'd catch it by now..
there's something in the way
i'm watching you steal
what did you take? how do you feel?
your head starts to drift
you turn into ash
what did you take?
how long will it last?
what did you trip on 'made you fall on your face?
so you ran out of time, but you've got plenty of space
you look out below
and what do you know
all of your carnations burning in a row.
you get forced to jump
out your window
you land inside one of them
and now there you go
the dust you left behind
you don't get very far
it orbits
you collapse
another rebirth of a star

such good things
03:23
|
|||
you don't know
where you are
where you're going
you just sit in the same spot
you don't move
you don't go
anywhere
but you think
you might
someday
but...
you've got to be alive,
or else you're gonna run out of time
but everybody runs out of time
but not me, i'm
still dead...still dreaming....
still counting all the different ways
that i can think of
to say the same things
but no one's hearing me the right way
you've got to be kidding me
i know you're listening...
such a shame
come to pass
such good things
never last.
if thats the case..
what do you do
if you say
that you don't
ever play
fun and games?

Spelled Words
06:12
|
|||
There is a piece of my mind that is trapped
in a harsh cold wind, a rough draft
where the
paint brushes
dance
on a music
photograph
sculpting
words similar to...which craft?
as the words came, they Blew to the back
where they were Read...how weird is that..
hello? hello? hello.
The trees carried spiders on their backs
where the spiders poured their hours into a glass,
and as the hot sun would pass,
eyes at half mast, they would ask,
"how did we get here so fast?"
hello? hello? hello.
Down to earth all the the astroids would crash,
leaving ash on the harlot's gold sash
all the audience has a laugh while the optimists just react,
"We're all dead, but we've doubled in mass"
hello? hello? hello.
When the big picture was exposed, we grew sad,
the whole room became dark in a flash,
a photo of me in a clown mask,
i threw it in the trash,
tell me was it it or i who had the last laugh?
hello? hello? hello.
I met a gypsy on the side of the tracks,
she was a psychic, she could see into the past,
she said "life is work, not a play,
and you are not the last act,
no, you are the curtains, it is a matter of... opinion."

Repression (remix)
01:49
|
|||
I'm stuck inside this bed
and i feel like i belong here
i've got this feeling in my head
its gonna be a long year
trapped inside these sheets
they won't let me leave
try to return to my dreams
but i can't go back to sleep
(she lies, she lies, she lies all the time)
Things i hate most:
dead poet's quotes
live on through ghost
internet posts
drug overdosed
alien host
party's postponed
E.T. phoned home

Did you not enjoy the fall?
along came winter, snow and all
your lies are still hung on my wall
so take your time, yours truly, paul
falling from your point of view
willow trees sing "i'll love you"
"theres a slim chance i'll see you again"
thats what you said
red bird burning in his phoenix flames to painted ash
across his cluttered canvas, wonder how long his next life will last
hey
hey
i'll lie and say it doesn't hurt
to know you wear my favorite shirt
as you move in with your friend
and share with him your college bed
but i should say nothing at all
i'll talk too much and miss the call
i've got nicer dreams to chase besides your face
yours truly, paul

Happy Trails

find your own path, you can't keep up with mine
even if you tried,
you don't know me,
you hardly even know yourself
and i'd say nice to meet you but i've got other things to do,
so carry on my friend
i promise he's not too heavy, and he might even sing you a little song to keep your ears from hanging long..
it sounds like this, it goes
"i can't wait to get where we are going oh oh oh"
one more time in case you missed it,
"i can't wait to get where we are going oh oh oh"
and he sure can't, i tell you what
i'm the same way, and i'd sing it but you're far too far behind to hear me.
you shoulda thought of that before you agreed to carry him.
i hope you carry yourself just as well.
but hey man, i might see you on the other side,
but until then, you've got that song that i sang a minute ago...
how does it go? ...oh yeah,
"i can't wait to get where we are going oh oh oh"
one more time in case you forgot again,
"i can't wait to get where we are going oh oh oh"

As I'm Here (version 2)
05:37
|
|||
This whole world is spinning around,
and the walls of this universe were found,
and they fractal in each one of our skulls.
We are eternally hollow at a quantum level.
It's a wonder how on Earth we exist,
but all the good things and the bad things persist.
I've been waiting a long time for this.
I've been waiting a long time for this.
All the animals on the ground, and the sea,
and the sky where i can't reach,
all the insects, all the aliens, all the tress
are part of everything, and everyone, and me.
As i'm here, i've a place in which i fit.
I've been waiting a long time for this.
I've been waiting a long time for this.
